Students Run Philly Style is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2004. It aims to promote healthy lifestyles, personal achievement, and teamwork among Philadelphia youth through mentorship and long-distance running.
The program provides free mentoring, coaching, and support to students in grades 7-12, with a focus on those who are at risk of dropping out of school or are affected by poverty. Participants are paired with adult mentors who serve as positive role models and help them prepare for and complete a half-marathon or full marathon.
Through the program, students not only gain physical fitness and endurance but also learn important life skills such as goal-setting, perseverance, and leadership. Students Run Philly Style has helped thousands of students to develop healthy habits and achieve personal goals.
